Saniderm Aftercare Instructions

Your tattoo has been covered with Saniderm Adhesive.

Taking proper care of your investment will assure it heals infection free, and stays looking fresh for years.

ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER YOU CLEAN YOUR TATTOO, AND DO NOT WASH YOUR TATTOO UNLESS YOU ARE CLEANING IT. This is crucial in minimizing your risk of infection. Swelling, seeping, soreness, and itching, are all common in the first few days or week. Ibuprofen is best to relieve discomfort.

This adhesive should be worn for three days without removing it. At the end of the third day, run warm water over the adhesive and peel it off as you would a bandaid. After the adhesive is completely removed, wash your tattoo with Gold Dial Antibacterial soap, pat dry, and let air dry for around 10 minutes before applying a thin layer of H2Ocean moisturizing cream or fragrance free lotion. Wash, dry, and use moisturizing cream daily.

DO NOT scratch or pick

DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin, harsh cleaners or scented lotion

DO NOT use tanning beds or tanning sprays for 2-3 weeks

DO NOT submerge in water. Showers are great, but absolutely no baths, ocean, or lake water for the first 3 weeks

If you have any questions regarding the healing process of your tattoo, please feel free to call or email your artist.

Please contact your Health Care practitioner at the first sign of infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the tattoo and report it to your tattoo artist and to the Texas Department of State Health Services at 1-888-839-6676.

Standard Aftercare Instructions

Taking proper care of your investment will assure it heals infection free, and stays looking fresh for years. This is crucial in minimizing your risk of infection. Swelling, seeping, soreness, and itching, are all common in the first few days or week. Ibuprofen is best to relieve discomfort.

Two hours after your session, remove and discard the initial bandage, and clean the tattoo. Using your fingertips only, gently but thoroughly wash your tattoo and the surrounding area with warm water and antibacterial soap such as Gold Dial Antibacterial soap. Rinse with cold water. This will help bring the swelling down. DO NOT RUB, PICK OR SCRATCH AT YOUR FRESH TATTOO! This will ruin your new art.

Let the newly cleaned area air dry or pat dry with a clean towel. This is your time to admire your new art, but remember to keep you and your friends hands off! This is still open tissue and is susceptible to infection.

Gently apply a small amount of H2Ocean or Aquaphor ointment in a very thin layer.

Continue these cleaning steps 3-4 times daily for approximately 3 days. After the 3 days, it is not necessary to bandage. In about 4 days, your tattoo will begin to peel and flake like a sunburn. LET IT DO IT’S THING AND DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK AT IT. Discontinue using the ointment and / or FRAGRANCE FREE lotion.
